Her work will be on display at the Conway library from October 10 through October 31. Thursday October 27 from 6-7 PM, Sheila will be honored with a reception and award presentation.  The library is located at 1900 Tyler Street, Conway, Arkansas 72032.

The painting is titled “Lake Lilies”. It is one of 33 paintings that were selected out of 88 entries. The exhibition will be at the Batesville Area Arts Council Gallery on Main, 246 E. Main Street, Batesville, Arkansas. The exhibition will run from October 3 to October 28, 2011.

After a year’s break Sheila Parsons is ready to teach again. The Friends of the Library has invited her to teach three classes this summer and fall at the Faulkner County Library in Conway, Arkansas. They are:

Introduction to Watercolor:This is a class for those who have little or no experience with the watercolor medium. The instruction will be a non-threatening exploration of watercolor techniques with the goal of helping the student create personal paintings.  Class will be held August 15, 16, 17 (the kids go back to school and parents take up a new hobby). There will be an afternoon session from 1:00 to 3:30 pm and if needed a second class will meet from 7:00 to 9:30pm. The fee of $100 includes use of all needed supplies.  To enroll call 1-501-327-1750.

Continuing Watercolor Classes
Intermediate to Advanced painters are invited to continue their exploration of watercolor with two more five-day classes in Conway at the library.  These two classes will meet in September (12 – 16) and October (10 – 14).  Afternoon and evening groups are available and each class will have fifteen hours of instruction. Details on these classes will be announced in the media or are available by calling 1-501-327-1750.

Painting Holiday Class:

These three classes will culminate with a six day painting holiday to Eureka Springs, AR to be held Oct 30 to Nov 5th. This will be Sheila’s 28th Ozarks Adventure in Watercolor in Eureka Springs. Click here for more information about this very special workshop.
